Lake Fertõ and its surroundings are a very beautiful area of Central Europe. Accomodation is a 3 star hotel situated in one of Hungary`s most important locations, the border between Hungary and Austria in Sopron. This town has a medieval atmosphere due to the many Gothic monuments, the Baroque buildings and the symbol of Sopron, called Fire Tower (Tûztorony). There are many trips which departe from Sopron. For example:. Tour to Vienna and visit Heurigen or travel to the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava. There are many opportunities for visitors to Sopron. The town is not only beautiful but offers bathing in the Bükfürdõ Spa (do not forget to bring your bathing suit!). Visit wine cellars with wine-tasting or a tour to Burgenland and a stop in Baden to visit the Sacher sweet shop. You can have great fun in Advent!
This is only one program schedule to enjoy the holiday from the beginning till the end:
Day 1: Arrive at Sopron in the late afternoon where the guide welcomes you with a cocktail and information on the various programs before helping you book into your room. You are free for the rest of the day. Dinner (half-board) in the hotel.
Day 2: This is an all day trip to Vienna to see the sights of the capital of Austria ( with a guide ), afterwhich you have the opportunity to discover the old town of Vienna individually. We then head to Gumplodkirchen in the afternoon and dinner (half-board) is in „Heurigen Bruckberger“ of Madam Hansi. You can enjoy your meal ( a Heurigen-course ) in an intimate place with 1 l wine and music.
Day 3: A visit to Bratislava the capital of Slovakia, stopping in Neusiedler am See at Lake Fertõ, before continuing onto the youngest capital of Europe. The palaces and the cafés of the rococo and Baroque city have a beautiful atmosphere, that can be enjoyed with the help of the guide during sightseeing. Lunch (half-board) in a local restaurant, the menu is a typical Slovakian meal with beer followed by the opportunity for a free program. On the way to the hotel we stop in Rust at Lake Fertõ for a visit to a wine-cellar and wine-tasting. The evening ends in the hotel.
Day 4: Sightseeing in Sopron, the town has the most monuments of the country. Sopron was honoured with the prize of Europe Nostra. The ancient town of Sopron used to be called Scrabantia is situated on the north-west Amber Road of Europe. Lot of sights can be enjoyed here. Take a short walk by the famous historical wine-cellars line and then sightseeing with guide. After that travel to Bükfürdõ which is famous for its spa. Everybody can choose from the services and wellness programs of the spa (do not forget to bring your bathing suit with you). Dinner (half-board) in a typical wine-cellar restaurant, where characteristic wines of Sopron can be tasted.
Day 5: Today’s trip is to the beautiful Burgenland to follow the routes of Eszterházy princes. The guide escorts you on the way through the cities. The first stop will be in the quarry of St. Margaretheni. Sightseeing in the capital of Burgerland, called Eisenstadt. Hydn-church with mausoleum, Eszterházy Castle, Eszterházy-cellar are just some of the sights that can be seen here. After a free program in the centre of the city we head onto Baden. Taking a walk in the Biedermeier town. We then enjoy cakes and coffee in the world-famous Sacher sweet shop before returning to the hotel for a delicious dinner and a ball.
Day 6: After breakfas ttravelling home with the memories of a beautiful holiday.
