Budapest is the capital of Hungary, situated in central Europe. One of the worlds most beautiful cities it has two parts. The hilly west side called Buda and the flat east side called Pest. These two districts used to be two different city, but they were united in 1873, and Óbuda also merged with Budapest.
The Houses of Parliament, the Heroes’ Square (Hősök Tere), business districts with banks and theatres can be found in Pest. The historical Castle district with the Castle itself, Matthias Church (Mátyástemplom), the Fishermen’s Bastion (Halászbástya) and Gellért hill can be seen on the opposite bank of Danube.
The city is not only loved by its habitants, but by the whole country. Everybody is proud of Budapest in this country. This city is the centre of economy, politics, culture and tourisim and actually Budapest is the mirror of Hungary.
Day 1: Arrive at Budapest around noon . You are welcomed with a cocktail before the guide helps you book into your room. The rest of the day is free so you can enjoy the hotel and surrounding area. Dinner (half-board) in the hotel.
Day 2: Breakfast will be followed with a sightseeing tour ( with guide ) of this beautiful city on the banks of Danube.
The district of Buda and Pest, the covered-market, the Fishermen’s Bastion (Halászbástya) can be seen and also go the amazing downtown. This takes about 3 hours. You then have the opportunity to discover the city individually.
Dinner (half-board) in the Vénhajó restaurant, which is on board of the Kossuth Museumboat followed by a hour long boat-trip on the Danube to enjoy the lights of Budapest, an unforgettable end of a beautiful day.
Day 3: Travel to the amazing Baroque town of Eger and stopping at Kékestető wich is the peak of Hungary’s highest montain ( the Mátrahegység ) and visiting Cifra Stable carriage museum in Parád. After arrival a sightseeing tour followed by the opportunity to discover Eger on your own. After so much walking people get hungry and thirsty, so we go to the Kulacs Winecellar in Szépasszony valley. Dinner includes Hungarian kettle goulash, cold cellar-dish and dessert as well as partcipating in a wine-tasting and folklore program, live gipsy music and election of wine leader.
Day 4: Travel to the aristic town of Szentendre. Enjoy the amazing atmosphere while roaming in the Open Air Village Museum (skanzen). Lunch is in an intimate restaurant in Jászárokszállás. Afterwards a walk around the acient streets of this lovely town. Visit Caprice jeweleryl factory where the worlds most amazing diamonds are on show.
Return to Budapest and spend 3 hours relaxing in the historical Széchenyi Spa (do not forget to bring your bathing suit with you!).
Day 5: The famous Puszta (overleaf) trip cannot be missed in Hungary. Visit a famous stud called Lipicai. Program: The group is welcomed with pálinka (traditional Hungarian schnaps) and langosh ( fried potato dough topped with sour cream / cheese / garlic.) Afterwhich the group travels by coach to see a horse show , visit a peasant farm followed by a large lunch (half-board) with wine, coffee and live gipsy music. The Pálinka Museum will be visited at the end of the day.
Day 6:. After breakfast travelling home with the happy memories of a beautiful holiday.
