Take part in a fantastic feast, feel the difference between the life of the person who lives in the city compared to a peasant, and learn how to cook real Hungarian meals and cook with the chef of the hotel.
Day 1: 19.09.2005 Arrive at Siófok. Our German speaking guide will welcome the guests advices about various programs and asists in booking into your room. Dinner (half-board) in the hotel.
Day 2: 20.09.2005 Free program in the morning followed by a ferry trip across the Lake Balaton to Tihany to take a walk in its intimate streets followed by a visit to Tihany Abbey. After a short break, travel to Balatonfüred, and spend 1 hour in the famous aveneus of the town. Travel further to the world-famous Herend Porcelain Museum and factory, this visit will be supported by a local guide. Finally having cakes and coffee in the shop of the museum.

Day 3: 21.09.2005 Danube Bend trip. First stop is Esztergom. This is the residence of the Hungarian Catholic Church and the biggest basilica in Hungary which will be visited . After a short free program head on to Visegrád. We will visit the castle with its breath-taking views of the whole Danube Bend . We have our first real culinary adventure in the Renaissance restaurant in Visegrád. The menu contains:
Venison ragout soup with cream and potato rolls with onion. Rich plate of Sigismund King (larded turkey leg in one piece with brined meat crown, served with cabbage stewed in wine, rye loaflet). Knight cup with trophy
Travel further to Szentendre.A short sightseeing tour is followed by a free program in this artistic -town, with its unusual atmosphere. 19:00 arrive at the hotel.
Day 4: 22.09.2005 After breakfast we tarvel to the capital of Hungary, Budapest. First stop is on the Pest side of Budapest, taking a walk on Heroes Square (Hġsök Tere) and the famous pedestrian zone Váci street, then going into covered-market which was built in the Eiffel-style followed by 45 minutes free program . St. Stephen Cathedral (Szt. István Bazilika) and the Hungarian Parliament can also be viewed on this side of the city. The on to the Buda side through the oldest bridge of the city called Lánchíd (Chainbridge). Climbing up to the Buda Castle and visiting the Matthias Church (Mátyástemplom), taking a walk on the Fishermens Bastion (Halászbástya) and in the Castle district. Afterwards looking down to the city from the hill called Gellérthegy, with its breath-taking views.
Our secound culinary adventure comes in the Kéhli restaurant, where the meal of the city-dweller can be sampled . The wall of this small house and the atmosphere of this area show the past of Óbuda. The menu:
A cup of spotted bean soup with sour cream, Veal stewed with paprika served with home-made dumplings, Homemade pickles (Cucumber, Cabbage), Sweet cottage cheese dumplings.
Day 5: 23.09.2005 After breakfast we travel to the Hungarian plain, Puszta. The group is welcomed with pálinka (traditional Hungarian schnaps) and langosh ( fried potato dough topped with sour cream / cheese/ garlic ) followed by a short coach trip to see a horse show. The 3rd cullinary adventure is a mixed woodplate lunch with live gipsy music. The menu:
goulash soup, mixed meat dish, milky pie with wine and coffee. After lunch a visit to the Izsáki Pálinka and Ethnography Museum.
Day 6: 24.09.2005 Travel to Etyek, ( an artistic-village ) and taking part in a craftsmans festival. The motto of the festival: the culture at the time of the first human settles who started cultivating the land to the time when the settles were separated from land. Everybody can participate in the festival, wine-tasting, eating from the fresh open-air made foods and buying presents.
Then heading on to Székesfehérvár for a short sightseeing tour of the city ( where many of the Hungarian kings were crowned ) followed by a free program before the 4th culinary adventure.
The menu:
Tarragon game-ragout soup with potato noodles in a cup, quilted venison slices with bacon, almond and French plums, ragout with red wine sour cherry, blueberry served with fried potato dumplings with sesame seeds, the dessert is poppypudding with plumsauce and cinnamon
Day 7: 25.09.2005 Free program in the morning. There will be a presentation about cooking Hungarian meals, in the afternoon when you will have the opportunity to cook 3 different type of foods with the chef of the hotel. These meals can be eaten for dinner.
Day 8: 26.09.2005 After breakfast traveling home.
