Day 1: Arrive and book into the hotel. A  guide will welcome the guests and dinner (half-board) will be served in the restaurant of the hotel. Use of the wellness area is free.

Day 2: Trip around Lake Balaton
Travelling on the south shore of the lake to Keszthely  (  about 1.5 hours ). Sightseeing and   free program followed by a visit to the museum in Festetics Castle. We then contiune on  to Hévíz , where it will be possible to bathe outdoors in the lake. Then the bus continues its route on the north shore of Lake Balaton via small villages to get to the Tihany-peninsula. There will be a visit to the abbey followed by a short free program. This will be followed by dinner (half-board) in a rustic charda and will involve taking part in a large peasent-wedding with folklore program.

Day 3: After breakfast travel to Pécs for sightseeing and  free program. Then travelling  to  Siklós where the famous Batthyány castle can be seen. Visit the places of interest including  church of Máriagyüd and the Kékfestő workshop. Wine-tasting and dinner (half-board) in Villányi Szende Cellar at the end of the day.

Day 4: After breakfast travelling to Kalocsa. The Archbishop’s Palace  (established in the 11th century) can be seen and the town is the home of paprika and famous for its folk art. The Chatedral, the folk art house and the Museum of Paprika (spice) can be seen  and the preparation of paprika is taught  in the museum.
After this program we travel to  the real Puszta (Hungarian Plain ) (overleaf),  where the group is welcomed with pálinka (traditional Hungarian schnaps) and langosh ( fried potato dough topped with sour cream / cheese / garlic ) afterwhich  a short trip by  coach to see a horse show. This will be followed by a  3-course lunch, with  Gipsies playing live music. It will then take less than half an hour to travel  to Kecskemét for our  overnight stay.

Day 5: The most exciting moment of the week is the visit to Sissi castle in Gödöllő. The exhibits from the Sissi life are on view  to the visitors in the renovated rooms of the palace.
We then travel  to the capital of Hungary, Budapest. Book into the hotel followed by  sightseeing in this beautiful city. Starting on the Pest side of Budapest, taking a walk on Heroes’ Square (Hősök Tere) and the famous pedestrian zone  Váci street, then going into covered-market which was built in the Eiffel-style and then having 45 minutes free program here. St. Stephen Cathedral (Szt. István Bazilika) and the  Hungarian Parliament can also be seen on this side of the city. Going to the Buda side through the oldest bridge of the city called Lánchíd (Chainbridge). Climbing up to the Buda Castle and going into Matthias Church (Mátyástemplom), taking a walk on the Fishermen’s Bastion (Halászbástya) and in the Castle district. Afterwards looking down to the city from the hill called Gellérthegy with its  breath-taking views.
Dinner (half-board) will  be served in the Vénhajó restaurant, which is on the Kossuth Museumboat, followed by a  one hour long boat-trip on the Danube to see the lights of Budapest, this will be a unforgettable  end to a beautiful  day.

Day 6: After breakfast  it takes about half an hour to get to Danube Bend . The biggest basilica of Hungary can be seen here in Esztergom. Then the whole Danube Bend can be seen from Visegrád’s Palace. It is an amazing panorama. Roaming on the streets of Szentendre wich is a beautiful small art-town with narrow passages. You cannot miss it.

Day 7: After dinner travel home from Hungary with lot of beautiful memories.
